An Ordinary Grave (Draft 3)

She can’t tell anyone
that she feels like a blasphemer

a turning away from pain, because
it’s just an aching anxiety, a
disquiet when the drums are silent

She feels like a blasphemer to say
there are too many funerals for
famous people, because

she feels like a blasphemer
to mourn alone

her flawed precious one
her furry pets, and

the music of her cries
parades between the graves
like a ghost
without grace notes
