Marie est l’œil de la fleur,
regarde dans à l’œil de Jacques disant
Marie, elle-même, est assez vieille pour lui,
et Jacques à elle donne l’œil de la tempête pour une nuit,
la tourmente pour le jour, et
ils ont nommé un ouragan
après la jeune fille.

Mary is the eye of the flower,
[Mary is a bud too young]
looks in to the eye of James saying
Mary herself is old enough for him,
and James to her gives the eye of the storm for one night,
the torment for the day, and
they have named a hurricane
after the girl.
