Notch (Draft 1)

Notch (Draft 1)

My hands are tired, and
it always seems difficult to
clutch onto happiness

Smokey Mountains do seem like
they could accommodate a
haze of thought, looking for
a dream and a place to climb,
a notch on a cliff to hold onto,
a wedge into your heart where
my feet are stepping up
into your mountain heart, and
where you will never let me fall
because you love me.

  1. Oops, I think I got the point of view wrong. Maybe Zawmb’yee would have written this. I don’t think I could say this.

    1. I love it!
There’s always room in my mountain heart for you to climb to; the views from the top of a love are the most breath-taking beautiful views of all…or so I hear. I yodel from my cliff’s edge and wonder if you will find me in the foggy haze and keep me safe from the mountain lions and bears. Pitch your tent and I’ll build a campfire…
