If The World Were a Flat

Reactions to “At Peace” at Sirens & Muses

If The World Were A Flat (Draft 1)

With her back to the window
she had thought she
signed a lease on
claustrophobic and dark,
signed for study, for her flat,
two mirrors with flowers and book shelves
for the prestigious Masters degree that
would not save glorious Summer days

But, two days at his flat,
wine and aha, a reserve
of happiness, changed the view

With these
she faced the autumn window

  1. Wow this is cool, I’m thrilled to have inspired this! I tend to just use both flat and apartment interchangably… I think mostly in Ireland an apartment usually suggests something bigger or nicer, but they’re mostly interchangable. Anyway, I love it! 🙂
