walked under the ladder of success
and it fell on them
but she had a will
and they couldn’t wait
a dark spirit suggested,
“Give her a smoke alarm.”
burnt her toast as usual
no problem
threatened to embarrass her
in the whole neighborhood.
to turn off the whine,
fell off and died.
had wine. The County
blamed the ladder.
The devil made

I’m a tad bit lost on this one…who is the old lady and her children? For some reason it reminded me of the ‘old lady in a shoe with so many children she didn’t know what to do’ nursery rhyme. It’s sad that she died falling off of a ladder. Those fire alarms are quite annoying when they go off. We used to have one outside of the bathroom and it would go off from the shower steam…it would completely ruin the relaxing hot shower.
i like the whine, wine, whiney ect…I always love the way you play with words.

Ok, let’s see. There are some children who are waiting for their Mother to die so they can inherit her wealth. They haven’t done well so they have no money. They ask an evil spirit what to do to make her die sooner so they can get the money right away. She always burns the toast which makes a lot of smoke but never actually causes a fire. So actually she was always very safe when the toast was contained in the toaster and there was never any danger. The danger was with climbing the ladder which she never would have done had not they given her the smoke detector. The County thought they were making her safer by requiring the smoke detector but the devil knew that the ladder was more of a risk than was the toast that would stay contained in the toaster. The children make themselves think they are doing no wrong because they are doing a helpful thing. But they allow themselves to become part of an evil plan. And the County is part of the un-thought through dysfunctional simplistic idea of protecting everyone in one dimension.

Now i feel silly…i understood all that. Every time i think i don’t understand and ask you to elaborate i realize that i did understand and i must just be thinking i don’t get something for some reason. Probably because i do feel confused a lot or like things just go right over my head or i feel like i missed something when in all truth it was right there all along. Eh, nevermind…i’m going to confuse myself all over again if i keep going on because i’m talking in circles.

It’s OK. I think I saw some things that are not clear.
I think these changes might make it more clear:
“but she had a will
and they couldn’t wait”
Their old lady
